Luke Perry is a very popular American actor who took birth in Mansfield, Ohio. He grew up in Fredericktown, Ohio. During his school years, Perry was the school mascot, the Fredericktown High School Freddie.   The man would be the grand Marshall of the parade for the 2009 Fredericktown Tomato Show. In the long running TV series Beverly Hills 90210, Luke Perry portrayed the character of Dylan McKay. He played the role from 1990-95 and then from 1998-2000. Perry released an album ‘Baby I Need You’ in 2001.

Luke Perry made an appearance in the music video ‘Be Chrool to Your Scuel’ for the band ‘Twisted Sister’, along with Alice Cooper. Among his earliest appearances were- on the daytime soap opera ‘Loving’ from 1987-88 and on ‘Another World’ from 1988-89. During an interview, Perry confirmed that his journey to take his first role on a daytime drama was 217 auditions long. His next appearance was on ‘Beverly Hills 90210? where he portrayed the character of Dylan McKay, the son of a brooding millionaire. During the same time period, Perry got a supporting role on the original movie version of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. In the mid 1990s, Luke Perry released a music album named ‘Let me Be Your Lady’. And, in 1998, he wrote a variety of songs such as ‘I Cry’. In 1994, Perry portrayed the character of Lane Frost on ‘8 Seconds’. In 1995, he got a role on Vacanze di Natale ‘95, an Italian movie and portrayed himself. After leaving Beverly Hills 90210, Luke Perry made appearances on TV sci-fi movie ‘Invasion’, a Rodney King-era drama Riot, and Luc Besson’s sci-fi adventure film The Fifth Element. He also played an important part on the 1999 film ‘Storm’. In 2002, he played a part in the television movie ‘The Triangle’. He next joined Jeremiah, a TV series and remained with it till 2004. After this, Luke Perry took an important role on Windfall, an ensemble drama series. It was all about a group of friends who win the lottery and ran for 13 episodes only. Luke Perry was next seen in the 2007 film ‘The Sandlot: Heading Home’ and the 2008 western ‘A Gunfighter’s Pledge’. Luke Perry appeared in the HBO series ‘John from Cincinnati’ and would be soon appearing on a Swedish production with the title Midsommarfesten (The midsummer party).

Luke Perry has also given his voice to innumerous animated series, such as ‘The Simpsons‘ portraying himself. He also voiced himself in an episode of Johnny Bravo. In an episode of Family Guy, he once again voiced himself. Among his other important voice-over work are ‘The Incredible Hulk, Biker Mice from Mars, and Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm etc.

He has also appeared as a guest star portraying gay characters on the sitcoms ‘Spin City’ and ‘Will and Grace’ etc. On ‘Spin City’, Luke portrayed the character of Carter Heywood’s ex-boyfriend and on ‘Will and Grace’, Luke played a geeky birdwatcher. On the HBO series ‘OZ’, Luke appeared as a guest star portraying the character of Rev. Jeremiah Cloutier. In an episode of ‘Law & Order‘, he guest starred as rapist Noah Sibert. His most recent guest appearance was in an episode of Criminal Minds in which he portrayed the character of cult leader Benjamin Cyrus.

In 2002, in the revival of ‘The Rocky Horror Show, Luke Perry portrayed Brad Majors. In 2004, he appeared as Harry on the London production of ‘When Harry Met Sally’ alongside Alyson Hannigan.

Luke Perry married Rachel Minnie Sharp, a former model in 1993 but they got divorced in 2003. As of now, they share the joint custody of their children Jack and Sophie. Luke likes to solve crossword puzzles. In the fall of 2008, he appeared at a rally with Bruce Springsteen and supported Barack Obama.

Luke Perry portrayed the character of Dylan Mckay on Beverly Hills 90210. Dylan was the son of a morally bankrupt business tycoon, Jack McKay and his hippie ex-wife Iris McKay. In the beginning of the series, Dylan befriended Walsh kids and their friends and they all helped him to diminish his radical attitude. Dylan fell in love with Brenda Walsh and the relationship had important affects on his personality and character as well. In the later seasons of series, Dylan’s character went through various ups-downs and remained an integral part of series for a long time. Luke Perry’s portrayal of Dylan Mckay helped him to become a popular TV personality.
